Xmas Dinner

Everyone has their own idea of what the festive season is all about, whether it is a family Christmas get-together, a religious celebration or just a time to relax. We asked our agents what their festive season traditions are and how they celebrate.

For Kensington Director, John Morello, this time of year is all about family, friends and good food.

“It starts with Christmas eve rituals, an early morning visit to the fish markets to purchase the freshest seafood for the following day. That night we all head to midnight mass and the children leave out treats for Santa, if we are lucky we might even open a present or two when we return” said John.

Fitzroy Agent, Bev Adam, spends the festive season surrounded by close family and enjoys taking the time to relax and recharge.

“Christmas is all about family for me, spending the day with my partner and our children, cooking at home and enjoying a long lunch. It is the perfect time of the year to enjoy some time off, take off the heels and feel at peace with the world” said Bev.

For Hawthorn Director Richard Winneke it is about fun activities with family and old friends.

“Christmas is family time, no mobile phones! In keeping with the Australian way of life, we love to go to the beach. The next day my old school friends and I carry out our long standing tradition of going along to the Boxing Day Test cricket match” said Richard.

Blackburn Director, Daniel Bullen, loves to see the excitement on the faces of his children and wife.

“It’s the joy of watching my kids get so excited about what Santa has delivered and also seeing my wife count down the days out loud for the boxing day sales!” said Daniel.

At Jellis Craig we also believe that the festive season is about giving back to the community. With the Jellis Craig Foundation in its third year, we are incredibly proud of breaking the $650,000 milestone.

The Foundation is incredibly humbled and grateful for the support it has received throughout 2016 from our staff and the community. We have participated in some exciting events such as Run Melbourne, VSK 24-hour Treadmill Challenge and the Fun Street Appeal, just to name a few, and in the process supported our very deserving charity partners – headspace, Very Special Kids (VSK) and Hands Across the Water.

We thank everyone for the generous contributions and wish you all a safe and happy festive season!
