About The Jellis Craig Foundation

A dedication to active community service has been central to the culture at Jellis Craig since the business’ inception and this commitment was formalised via the establishment of the Jellis Craig Foundation in 2013. Since then, the Foundation’s reach has been felt far and wide, making an impact to communities internationally, nationally and locally.

Central to the Foundations’ objectives and achieving key milestones has been the collective effort by all staff, leaders across the network and the Board. It has enabled the whole of Jellis Craig to strengthen its relationships within the communities it operates in and has allowed staff and the Foundation to make an impact.

In the foundation’s short history, it has been incredibly humbled by the support it has received from offices and staff whose efforts have been used to promote projects and initiatives and most importantly resulted in the authentic relationships the Foundation has developed with its various partners; Hands Across the Water, The Big Umbrella and The Resilience Project.

THE BIG UMBRELLA

Our impact with The Big Umbrella

With the support of The Jellis Craig Foundation, TBU have plans to become the most sustainable commercial kitchen in Australia by repurposing the sun, water and kitchen waste to then grow food – making the TBU premises a full circle closed system. A new garden is growing that will one day allow the TBU to be less reliant on major supermarket chains in times of food shortages. An irrigation system is soon to be installed that will catch rainwater from the roof and channel it into use in their new garden. They’re also embarking on a solar panel project, whereby solar panels with Tesla batteries will be installed to take the warehouse and kitchen 60% off-grid.

Our impact with The Resilience Project

‘Authentic Connection’ focuses on the power of vulnerability, imperfection, and passion and the benefits we reap from connecting with our community and ourselves. Teeming with emotionally engaging stories and practical strategies, Martin Heppell talks to all staff about the importance of striving for authentic connection so our people can lead happier and more fulfilling lives. During lockdown, they were instrumental in delivering resilience and parenting workshops to our staff across the network.

Our impact with Hands Across The Water

The Foundation has helped changed the lives of 30 boys and girls in Thailand who have been abandoned, neglected, or have no known family to care for them. Provided funds built PAMA House, the highest-rated orphanage in Thailand, and assisted children at PAMA house with their educational aspirations. Our legacy project, Pama House, opened in 2015 and supports up to 30 at-risk children, aged (0-19 years) at any given time.

Making a Difference and Donations.

The Jellis Craig Foundation’s impact and investment strategy is to encourage and support staff to give back to the communities where Jellis Craig operate and to strengthen the impact of the charitable organisations we partner by funding their projects and initiatives.

The majority of contributions come from each and every Jellis Craig sale, where a percentage of each sales commission supports the foundation. In addition, personal contributions are made by Jellis Craig Staff and offices office initiatives.

The Jellis Craig Foundation welcomes support from the wider community. You can help make a difference by donating to the Foundation directly, actively participating in the charity partners' projects and initiatives, or through fundraising and events.

The Foundation appreciates your continued support and looks forward to working with staff and our communities so the Foundation can make an even bigger impact in the future.
