About The Jellis Craig Foundation

Active community service has been integral to Jellis Craig’s culture since its beginning.  This dedication was formalised with the establishment of the Jellis Craig Foundation in 2013, amplifying its impact locally, nationally, and internationally. The Foundation’s success has been driven by the collaborative efforts of staff, network leaders, and the Board, fostering stronger connections within the communities where Jellis Craig operates.

The Foundation has raised over $3.5 million to support partners, projects, and initiatives since inception. With more than a decade of meaningful contributions, the Foundation has been deeply supported by the unwavering efforts of Jellis Craig offices and staff. These collective actions have promoted vital initiatives and cultivated authentic relationships with key partners, including Hands Across the Water, The Big Umbrella,

Lighthouse Foundation, LifeChanger Foundation, McAuley Community Services and The Resilience Project.

A significant portion of the Foundation’s funding comes from every Jellis Craig property sale, where a percentage of sales commissions is allocated to the Foundation. Additionally, Jellis Craig staff and offices make personal contributions, further enhancing the Foundation’s ability to drive positive change.

The Jellis Craig Foundation’s impact and investment strategy focuses on empowering staff to give back to their communities while amplifying the influence of its partner charities through funding for impactful projects and initiatives.

THE BIG UMBRELLA

Our impact with The Big Umbrella

With the support of the Jellis Craig Foundation, The Big Umbrella (TBU) is working toward becoming Australia’s most sustainable commercial kitchen. Their innovative approach centres on harnessing solar power, harvesting rainwater, and recycling kitchen waste to cultivate their own food, creating a closed-loop, self-sufficient ecosystem on-site. The Foundation has helped establish a garden that will reduce TBU’s reliance on major supermarkets during times of food insecurity. They have also funded an advanced irrigation system that captures rainwater from the roof to nourish the garden. In addition, the Foundation contributed to the installation of a large-scale solar energy system, comprising 97 solar panels and Tesla batteries, which now enables the warehouse and kitchen to operate entirely off-grid.

THE RESILIENCE PROJECT

Our impact with The Resilience Project

Through our partnership with The Resilience Project, we’re proud to support 6 to 9 schools each year with engaging educational programs that focus on practical wellbeing strategies. To date, we’ve funded 24 schools and early learning centres across Melbourne and Victoria, positively impacting more than 7,000 students. These young people have gained valuable tools to build resilience, improve their wellbeing, and better navigate life’s challenges.

THE RESILIENCE PROJECT

Our impact with The Resilience Project

‘Authentic Connection’ focuses on the power of vulnerability, imperfection, and passion and the benefits we reap from connecting with our community and ourselves. Teeming with emotionally engaging stories and practical strategies, Martin Heppell talks to all staff about the importance of striving for authentic connection so our people can lead happier and more fulfilling lives. During lockdown, they were instrumental in delivering resilience and parenting workshops to our staff across the network.

HANDS ACROSS THE WATER

Our impact with Hands Across The Water

The Foundation has transformed the lives of more than 100 boys and girls in Thailand who have been abandoned, neglected, or lack familial care. We have funded the construction of PAMA House, Thailand's top-rated orphanage, and supported the educational goals of the children there. Since its opening in 2015, our legacy project, PAMA House, has provided support for up to 30 at-risk children, ranging in age from 0 to 19 years, at any given time.

Making a Difference and Donations.

The Jellis Craig Foundation’s impact and investment strategy is to encourage and support staff to give back to the communities where Jellis Craig operate and to strengthen the impact of the charitable organisations we partner by funding their projects and initiatives.

The majority of contributions come from each and every Jellis Craig sale, where a percentage of each sales commission supports the foundation. In addition, personal contributions are made by Jellis Craig Staff and offices office initiatives.

The Jellis Craig Foundation welcomes support from the wider community. You can help make a difference by donating to the Foundation directly, actively participating in the charity partners' projects and initiatives, or through fundraising and events.

The Foundation appreciates your continued support and looks forward to working with staff and our communities so the Foundation can make an even bigger impact in the future.
