For the girls' weekend by the beach

Camillo Beach House | Blairgowrie | Sleeps 6

Perched on Blairgowrie's dunes just steps from the back beach, Camillo House is the perfect base to explore the best that Mornington Peninsula has to offer. Just 90 minutes from Melbourne, it’s close enough for a quick getaway, but far enough away to feel like a true holiday.

The north-facing orientation floods interiors with natural light, while the dune position provides natural wind protection. Luxurious interiors by Clare Hillier are unmistakably stylish; with blush accents appearing in stone selections and furniture pieces, creating a softness that elevates the mid-century bones. The material palette balances warmth with timber joinery, natural linen upholstery, and a considered colour scheme that allows the rotating art collection to command attention.

Settle in for a night by the fireplace with their complimentary Camillo Negronis and let the laughter and catch ups begin. Spend your time making memories, not meals, and let Camillo organise dinner for you at home by their in-house Chef, Yonatan Rotner. Finish with stargazing, hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows by the fire pit on the lower terrace and fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves.

Explore
Sip award-winning wines at cellar doors such as Port Phillip Estate or Polperro, stroll through a sculpture park Pt Leo Estate, visit orchards, olive growers and cheesemongers; soak in mineral hot springs at Alba, and enjoy delicious meals by local chefs.

The Art House
Twenty-five rotating artworks from emerging and established artists give this beachside home a gallery quality, with Camillo's Artist Retreat program.

A rural couples' retreat

Oikos | Hepburn Springs | Sleeps 2

Set high on an 18-hectare property at Breakneck Gorge, multi-award-winning Oikos (pronounced eekos) is a sculptural study in intimacy just minutes from Daylesford's main street. This couples retreat is immersed in the landscape and full of luxury.

The dramatic angles of Corten steel and handmade dark brick blend into the rugged gorge, while floor-to-ceiling windows frame gum trees and the twinkling township lights of Hepburn Springs and Daylesford. The power of these remarkable outlooks reveals itself in the stunning bedroom, with two huge windows tempting you to leave the blinds open and sleep in starlight.

The daybed ensconced in glass is perfectly positioned for losing entire afternoons to the view or getting lost in your favourite book. Watch mobs of kangaroos graze undisturbed as the sun sets over the hills. Time spent at Oikos is a stylish, romantic and invigorating experience.

Explore

Daylesford and Hepburn Springs offer mineral springs, acclaimed restaurants, antique stores, and some of Victoria's best produce. Walk through Wombat State Forest, book a treatment at Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa, or explore the region's thriving arts and crafts scene.

The Architecture

Architecture by Robert Nichol & Sons, Oikos has won multiple design awards, including Gold at the International Design Awards and the Architecture MasterPrize. It's a bold, angular statement - an imaginative dwelling where architecture doesn't compete with the landscape but heightens it.

This was a challenging project on many levels not least from a constructional aspect but the result is a beautiful and unique architectural response to an amazing site.

The family getaway on the Surf Coast

Torquay Beach House | Torquay | Sleeps 10

Autumn is considered one of the best times on Victoria’s Surf Coast with consistent, solid swells. Five minutes' walk to Torquay's front and back beach, local cafes and restaurants, this Walton Architecture renovation delivers authentic Surf Coast living for groups. The house respects Torquay's beach shack tradition from the street before revealing its true nature: a contemporary raked roof extension.

It's the movement through the house that makes it work for ten people. The informal side entry with outdoor shower and wetsuit hooks means sandy surfers bypass the main living spaces. A separate pavilion houses the pool table and sound system, the perfect adults' zone once kids are asleep. The coastal aesthetic carries through from kitchen to outdoor entertaining space, anchored by a pizza oven that becomes your evening's focal point.

Explore

Walk to Torquay's beaches, cafes and surf shops. With the Rip Curl Pro hosted during Easter, Bells Beach comes alive with world-class surfing just minutes away. The Surf Coast Walk starts nearby, and the Great Ocean Road unfolds westward to Anglesea and Lorne.

The Architecture

Walton Architecture balances heritage and function as the traditional facade preserves neighbourhood character while the contemporary rear addition delivers the volume and flow large groups need.
