As we start another Financial Year, many of us will start to look at our current investment portfolios to see how they have performed over the last 12 months and previous years.  Some of us will also set some financial goals or aspirations and start working towards them.

For myself as a property investor, now is the perfect time to review your current insurance policies including building, contents, and landlord insurance.  (see the EBM article below)

As the years go by, we don’t always realise the current value of our investment properties and it’s also a good idea to get regular valuations carried out on your properties, as you may be pleasantly surprised with their current worth.  If your properties have increased in value, you may be able to use this equity to purchase another property or carrying out improvements and renovations on your own home.

Viewing your current mortgage rates and refinancing may be an option that you haven’t considered either for some time.

Having been in the Real Estate industry for over 26 years, I have spoken to many of my clients about their property goals and future investments.  If you have any questions on your current investment property or any that you are potentially looking at purchasing, you are always welcome to contact me directly on 0400 246 576 to discuss.

Here at Jellis Craig Geelong Property Management, we love what we do and we love servicing and providing the very best advice to our clients.

Consumer Affairs Updated Renters Guide

Consumer Affairs have recently updated the ‘Renters Guide’ that we as agents must give all renters a copy of, on or before the day they move into a rental property.  There have been a number of changes to legislation and regulations over the years, and as your property management specialist, we continue to remain at the forefront of the Property Management industry and these changes.

More information about the ‘Renters Guide’ available here.

Landlord Insurance (EBM RentCover)

Landlord insurance is not just a safety net – it’s considered financial protection. From tenant-related damages and rent default to legal liability, the right policy can step in when you experience costly, unexpected events.

Here at Jellis Craig, we have partnered with EBM RentCover to help protect what is important – property investments. This means they can arrange cover for rental properties through one of Australia’s leading landlord insurance specialists. Please click on the following links to review the product information and premiums: RentCover Ultra or RentCover Platinum. For more information, chat to your property manager.
