Ambitious plans for a $900 million redevelopment of Richmond’s Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre have been unveiled. The vision for the project includes a new sustainable urban village with close to 1700 apartments, 45,000 sq m of retail and commercial space, and expansive parkland linking the 5.2 hectare site to the Yarra River. If approved, construction could start as early as next year.

The work will further invigorate the area by attracting more businesses, generating employment opportunities and fostering economic growth in the region.
The highly anticipated $65 million revamp of Punt Road Oval has been given the greenlight, with new facilities for the women’s team, an expanded oval and a new grandstand for football fans to be delivered in stages from next year.
Meanwhile, work to revitalise the North Richmond precinct continues, with new playgrounds, sporting facilities and multi-use community rooms set to transform the precinct in coming years.
