A $180 million revamp of St Vincent’s Private Hospital is underway. The ambitious development includes a modern 12-storey hospital, including a new intensive care unit, chemotherapy department and special care nursery, scheduled for completion in mid-2024.

The City of Yarra has set aside $30 million for a raft of community facility refurbishments in the coming financial year. The investment has been earmarked to create more parks and open spaces, renew sporting facilities, improve the bicycle network and provide key pedestrian infrastructure in Cremorne.

More than $7 million of works along Yarra Boulevard between Richmond and Kew will improve safety along the busy cycling and tourist route, including key intersection upgrades and better lighting. Meanwhile, the $12 billion Metro Tunnel project, due for completion in 2025, is expected to ease congestion and improve accessibility to the CBD.

Schools across Richmond have benefitted from significant investment in recent years and this trend looks set to continue. Richmond Kindergarten has unveiled a $500,000 overhaul, while Richmond Creche & Kinder and Acacia Children’s Centre both have new outdoor play facilities for children to enjoy.

Richmond’s sought-after blend of inner-city appeal, superb residential offerings and prime location poised on the edge of the city, alongside sustained investment in new and improved infrastructure, guarantee the enduring appeal and long-term growth of this in-demand area.
