The $75 million duplication of the Mornington Peninsula Freeway to Boneo Road will improve accessibility and safety, reduce congestion and deliver a faster commute for residents. Planning is progressing to scope the duplication, intersection upgrades, pedestrian safety features and timeline.

New relaxation destination Alba Thermal Springs & Spa has opened, featuring 31 geothermal pools across the 15-hectare property. The facility includes 22 luxury spa treatment rooms and a 120-seat in-house restaurant, Thyme, under the culinary direction of well-known Melbourne chef, restaurateur, cookbook author and television presenter, Karen Martini.

Schools across the municipality have benefited from significant investment in recent years and this trend looks set to continue. Eastbourne Primary School in Capel Sound received a $360,000 upgrade and Boneo Primary School students have new $500,000 all-weather sports courts to enjoy.

Young people on the Mornington Peninsula will soon get a new, $13 million Youth Hub in Rosebud. Expected to be opened in November 2024, the centre will include a raft of features such as a drop-in space, personal development programs, youth leadership opportunities, and recreation and art spaces.

Families in Blairgowrie have a new playground to explore at Roger Penman Reserve. The community helped design the $280,000 upgrade, which includes accessible play equipment, nature play elements and a range of seating and landscaping items throughout the reserve.

Meanwhile, tennis fans will soon be able to play on new $760,000 courts at Stringers Reserve in Blairgowrie. The council is working on a design for upgraded courts, a new tennis hit-up wall and a basketball shooting area.
