Manningham is on the move, with major investments in education, transport and community infrastructure helping shape a smarter, more connected future.
Some of Victoria’s most significant transport upgrades are underway across the region, promising faster, more reliable travel for locals and unlocking new connections to jobs, schools and services.
Progress is accelerating on the North East Link, with tunnel boring machines carving out 6.5km of twin tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen. Once complete in 2028, it aims to remove 15,000 trucks from local roads and cut travel times by up to 35 minutes. The project also includes a dedicated busway from Doncaster to Hoddle Street, upgrades to the Eastern Freeway, and the recently completed Bulleen Park & Ride facility.
The Suburban Rail Loop East is set to transform how people move across Melbourne. The first stage, from Cheltenham to Box Hill, includes six new underground stations and is expected to open in 2035. The next stage, Suburban Rail Loop North, will extend the line to Melbourne Airport via a new station at Doncaster, improving access and sparking local growth.
Locally, early works are progressing on the Templestowe Route upgrade. Streets including Parker, Swilk, James and Anderson will be enhanced to support safer travel, better pedestrian access and stronger community connections.
