Work continues at pace on multi-billion- dollar transport projects that will reduce congestion, cut travel times and improve accessibility across the region.

A new dedicated track between Werribee and Laverton to service the Geelong Fast Rail will cut average travel times for passengers by up to 15 minutes when the line is operational in 2024. The dangerous Ferguson Street level crossing in Williamstown has been removed, and work has begun on the $50 billion Suburban Rail Loop, linking the Werribee and Frankston lines via Melbourne Airport.

The $2.25 billion M80 upgrade is set to increase capacity, improve safety and create more reliable travel times, while the West Gate Tunnel Project will deliver twin tunnels that connect the freeway to the Port of Melbourne, removing thousands of trucks from residential streets. When completed, by the end of 2025, 14km of walking and cycling paths will provide a link from Werribee to the city.
