Vicland Property Group has taken over a large site on Cremorne Street in a $53.5 million deal, and permission has been granted for a 198-hotel room development on the site of the former Matt Blatt showroom. Work is also underway to improve amenity along Swan Street, including new outdoor dining areas and outdoor seating, public art and better public transport connections.

Plans to redevelop Punt Road Oval have been approved by the council, with the $65-million revamp to include new women’s football facilities and an Indigenous learning centre.

Schools across Richmond have been comprehensively upgraded in recent years, including the new $43 million second campus at Richmond High School and redevelopment of Melbourne Girls’ College. Now Richmond’s youngest residents are set to benefit, with Yarra Park Children’s Centre and Kindergarten to get a new playground, and Collingwood Early Childhood Centre earmarked for work.
